Our History

Sevigny and Associates Eye Care was originally founded as a family clinic in 1978. After several years of practice, our clinic moved to Wauchula in 2008 and we have since expanded to provide eye care, exams and treatments to residents of Arcadia, Avon Park, Sebring, Lake Placid and Wauchula, Florida. Our team of experienced professionals handles every aspect of your visual health, including co-management after eye surgery, eye exams and finding the right corrective solutions for your eyes.

Dr. Mark Sevigny is a Board Certified Optometric Physician, specializing in primary medical eye care, evaluation of cataracts and macular degeneration, glaucoma and children’s vision.

Dr. Mark Sevigny is a Board Certified Optometric Physician, specializing in primary medical eye care, evaluation of cataracts and macular degeneration, glaucoma and children’s vision. His special area of interest is glaucoma.

Dr. Mark Sevigny received his bachelors degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to Nova Southeastern University to earn his Doctorate of Optometry and an additional Bachelors degree in Vision Science. Dr. Mark Sevigny was one of the top in his graduating class and received top honors. Dr. Mark Sevigny trained with many of the top Doctors in the world at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which is rated US News #1 Eye Hospital in the world. Dr. Mark Sevigny and his wife Tiffany have three girls, Riley, Baylee and Aubrie.

He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) and the Florida Optometric Association (FOA).

Dr. Russell started her Optometry career at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2008. Her areas of expertise are in pediatrics, vision therapy and contact lenses.

Dr. Robyn Russell received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida, in 2008 after receiving her undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, in 2004. In addition she completed a Pediatric and Vision Therapy Residency at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in June 2009.

Dr. Russell started her Optometry career at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2008. Her areas of expertise are in pediatrics, vision therapy and contact lenses.

Dr. Russell is a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Florida Optometric Association (FOA), and the College of Optometrist in Vision Development (COVD).

Dr. Ronald Sevigny is a Board Certified Optometric Physician specializing in primary medical eye care. His services include: general eye care, evaluation of cataracts, and treatment of glaucoma and other eye diseases. His area of special interest is glaucoma. Dr. R. Sevigny did his undergraduate training at Nasson College in Springvale, Maine. He has a Bachelors of Science degree Cum Laude. He received his Doctorate in Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. R. Sevigny served in the U.S. Air Force. He achieved the rank of Captain and was the Chief of the Eye Clinic at USAF Hospital at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota in 1973.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

He has been a lifelong member of the American and Florida Optometric Associations, has lectured at numerous continuing education seminars and has been an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University, New England College of Optometry, Ohio State University, State University of NY, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Anderson was raised in Orlando and completed her undergrad at Florida State University. She went on to get her doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale.

Dr. Angela Anderson treats patients in Sebring and Avon Park

Dr. Anderson was raised in Orlando and completed her undergrad at Florida State University — still a fervent Noles fan!!! She went on to get her doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale. After receiving her doctorate Dr. Anderson worked a year at the VA in Gainesville. She later moved to Polk county and worked 8 years in Polk and Highlands counties. Dr Anderson bought and ran her own private practice in Orlando for 5 years before returning to Polk and Highlands counties.

Dr Anderson currently lives with her husband and 2 dogs. She enjoys riding Harleys, Country line dancing, Gardening, Fishing and of course watching her NOLES!!!

Dr. Tyrrell was born and raised in towns south of Lake Okeechobee, Florida in Belle Glade, South Bay, and Clewiston. Upon graduation Dr. Tyrrell returned to Clewiston to practice for almost 20 years.

Dr. Tyrrell was born and raised in towns south of Lake Okeechobee, Florida in Belle Glade, South Bay, and Clewiston. She graduated from Clewiston High School and attended Palm Beach Community College (now PBSC), FAU, and received her bachelor’s and Doctorate from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry in Davie, Florida. Upon graduation Dr. Tyrrell returned to Clewiston to practice for almost 20 years with Eye Centers of Florida (ophthalmology/optometry group practice).

When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending time with her family members and animals (horses, dogs, cows). Dr. Tyrrell enjoys riding and showing horses (specially bred and trained cow horses) when she’s not at work.

Born and raised in a small town in Minnesota, Dr. Jake Mittelstaedt brings a strong Midwest work ethic and a passion for patient care to his practice. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, with a minor in Chemistry, from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston.

Dr. Mittelstaedt practices comprehensive optometry with a focus on primary medical eye care. He has a special interest in treating ocular emergencies, including the removal of metal foreign bodies and addressing sudden vision loss—along with everything in between.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mittelstaedt lives with his wife and their Australian Cattle Dog. Together, they enjoy exploring the outdoors and spending time with family.

Dr. Copley graduated from the University of South Florida (1992) with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology. He worked caring for cancer patients for over 10 years, prior to continuing his education at Nova Southeastern School of Optometry.

He worked caring for cancer patients for over 10 years, prior to continuing his education at Nova Southeastern School of Optometry. He is a Board Certified Optometrist, and a member of the American Optometric Association and Florida Optometric Association. Dr. Copley assists caring for those patients seen by Lakeland Eye Clinic for Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine.

Dr. Copley assists caring for those patients seen by Lakeland Eye Clinic for Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine and enjoys outdoor activities including golfing, fishing, and boating. He resides in Lakeland with his wife Clara and two daughters.

Dr. Kurt Kull grew up in the Midwest and transplanted to South Florida as a teenager with his family. While being a Division 1 college swimmer, he completed his Bachelors of Biological Science and Bachelors of Political Science.

Dr. Kurt Kull grew up in the Midwest and transplanted to South Florida as a teenager with his family. While being a Division 1 college swimmer, he completed his Bachelors of Biological Science and Bachelors of Political Science with a minor in American History from Florida Atlantic University.

Dr. Kull continued his education at NOVA Southeastern College of Optometry where he received his Bachelors of Vision Science and Doctorate of Optometry.

Dr. Kull completed his ocular disease training at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska and Katzen Eye Group in Baltimore, Maryland. He later attended specialty clinics in Davie, Florida in the areas of pediatrics and medical contact lenses used to treat corneal diseases such as Keratoconus.

Dr. Kull has been in practice since 2014. Outside of work he enjoys: surfing, fishing, sailing and all things outdoors.
